MARINA DISCUSSION
These comments will be shared with Bob-marina owner

GENERAL
Overall a good job has been done in cleaning up the property
New sign out front is very nice and visible.
Docks are looking better.
Lighting on steps to bathhouse and picnic area are great.
Cameras give a sense of security.
Talk of gates on dock
most not in favor.
Suggestion to gate off property at the hill
make restaurant patrons park behind bath house/pool
and make a lighted walkway on that far driveway for them to access the lower lot. This will keep speeding cars out of the lot and make the docks much more secure.

CARTS
Request 2 more carts so we can get rid of the noisy rusty shopping carts
3 carts are needed on D Dock alone because of the volume of boats.

INTERNET
When will marina wide internet be installed?
Many boaters want to work form their boats
The system on D Dock is not strong enough to reach some boats
What about marina wide Cable TV?
Will ask Bob

POOL
Disappointed in the way the pool was let go during season
The fence, chairs, tables and umbrellas are nice and plants are pretty
But the pool was not kept clean and was unusable for Labor Day weekend.
Many boaters expressed thair displeasure
and stated that it ruined the holiday weekend, which was very hot.
Can’t a pool service be hired?
How about some night hours.
What about having pool parties run by marina?
Hawaiian shirt night/Luau around the pool .
ADULT events???
What about a lifeguard to keep kids under control.
Too much loud music, outsiders from coming in, dogs in pool area, glass in pool area.

LAUNDRY ROOM
Need new machines
there should be at least 2 sets for this size marina.
Maybe a list of rules for laundry room use.
Also -no table to fold clothes. The glass cases are not convenient where they are.

BATHROOMS
Bathrooms were good for a while and then let go again
Especially after Labor Day
Would marina owner and wife would use them in the condition they are often in?
Several boaters said they were given "attitude" when they complained
and were told that the bathrooms were a luxury.
Boaters would like the bathrooms stocked and cleaned all the time
And they are still used in Fall after boats come out of the water
when boaters are working on their boats.
Also-they should be opened as of April for Spring when boaters
are getting things ready.

SHIP STORE
many complaints about location and hours.
Suggestion to move it up to one of the small buildings near the garages.
Have it staffed on weekends when boaters are there.
maybe1/2 day on Sat and Sun
Could hire marina kids to work on weekends.

ICE
Can't the marina get an ice machine?

DOG BAGS
Dog bags were good idea
would like another station near beach area
Eddie said that would be taken care of

TENTS
Eddie took the tent canvases which will be replaced in marina colors-white and yellow?
Donna will send reminder in Spring so they are ready to install for mid May

SHALLOW WATER
Discussion about dredging slips because water is so shallow -boats often sitting in mud.
Can’t dredge because of EPA rules
Perhaps the work barge can be used to blow some of the muck out of the slips?

BEACH AREA
Pleased with response regarding outsiders putting jet skis
and small craft in at the beach area.
the new pilings that keep cars off the beach are attractve and effective.
Perhaps marina can add some sand so kids can use the beach again.
Much has been washed away over the years.

PARKING LOT
Definitely less dust
Why can’t they just pave it?
probably because of EPA rules
Water runoff and such -only a certain percentage of property can be paved
Request made to let the rocks get packed down
instead of raking them up all the time which makes the VERY hard to walk on
Yard help, Derrick and owner ride carts and don’t know how hard it is to walk on them.

RESTAURANT
Unhappy with Grill owner –bad reputation in marina
A-Dock has difficulty parking and owner is rude.
Food is too pricey-service too slow
Poolside service is nice but way too slow
What happened to dockside service?
Donna gave out 10% discount cards but was never given menus to pass around.
Would like to see something more casual, with reasonable prices for families

MISC.
Some discussion about tennis courts, beach volleyball,  and rumors of a gym.
not much interest in any of these

Meeting ended at 2:15
